Maintenance Manual

MODEL : DPR

Operation and Maintenance Instructions :

Direct acting pressure relief valves are quite reliable and hence require very little attention from the user provided the valve is operated within the specified conditions. However following guide lines be followed while storage, operation, commissioning and maintenance.

Storage :

For storage see that the valve is properly covered and well lubricated. This will prevent the ingress of dust and dirt in working mechanism of the valve and it will be easy to install the same.

Operation :

Pressure Relief Valves are guided poppet valves. When pressure at the inlet is sufficient to overcome the pre-set pressure adjusted by spring force, then the poppet lifts up and allows the oil to flow through the tank.

Commissioning :

The valve is of subplate & threaded type. Inlet line is to be connected to port P and port T to the tank line. Port identification are provided to prevent the valve from being wrongly mounted.
See that proper size O’ rings are used. Correct tightening torque is to be applied to the mounting bolts as mentioned in the data sheet.

Maintenance :

The Pressure relief valve does not need any major attention, but to ensure its efficient working and long life it is necessary that following points be kept in mind.

The oil must be of prime quality and clean as per ISO code 16/13.

The oil must be periodically changed. Use of contaminated oil may cause faster poppet wear leading to reduced life.

The O’ rings at the port opening must be periodically checked.

The oil temperature be within specified range i.e. -20 °C to +70 °C. High temperature may result in noise and may also cause reduced life.
